These impressive and unique buildings are constructed in the original style of the areas in which they feature, and are built from large pieces of local stone, cut by local craftsmen. Beneath the stonework, the buildings still retain very high standards of reinforced concrete to give them strength, and keep in line with the new building and construction safety laws.
These buildings are mainly being developed near the ancient Temple of Apollo, at the highest point of the peninsula with wonderful views of the Aegean coastline and the Greek Islands, although there is an option for the client to have a stone house erected in any area of his choice. This area is within easy and regular bus-access to the resort and seafront.
There are different sizes of plots available, costing different prices, and the price of the construction is dependant on the size and specifications, although the prices generally start at around £60,000.

Apart from these facilties and specialities, the houses are generally built to the the client?s individual specifications.
For those clients who prefer a rural atmosphere, and really want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the resort, Adalilar Estates offers the option of having a stone house built in either Tuzburgasi, or Doganbey.
Tuzaburgas? is a farming village nestling at the bottom of the Samsun mountains, about 40km outside of Didim in a National Park. The road leading out from the back of the village to where the Stone Houses are located, is cobbled and natural-looking and blends beautifully with the surrounding countryside.
Once chosen, the plot is enclosed with a stone wall, and then the house plans can be drawn up to the buyers? specifications. There are already 5 houses finished and sold, and there are another 5 plots available. Of the ones sold already, buyers have been German and Dutch, and there is absolutely no problem with the deeds being held in the name of a foreign person here.
The homes MUST be constructed in the original stone style of the area, in keeping with the laws of the National Park, but buyers can choose from a one bedroomed bungalow to a 5 bedroomed mansion, or any other size as long as the home is no more than two storeys high. There is an option for beautiful pinewood ceilings, and they already have pinewood windows and doors and marble flooring. The walls of these stone houses are stone right through, to a thickness of 60cm, and the concrete between the stonework is mixed with a special insullating and waterproof substance to prevent rainwater seeping through. The roofs are tiled, and there is no damp or water leakage problem at all with these well-constructed buildings. Buyers can also decide on the general style, being able to choose towers and turrets too, if required. Private swimming pools can be provided, as can landscaping of the surrounding lands, again to the buyer?s specification.
The views from this village are really quite spectacular, with a long distance wide panorama of flatlands, backed by the mudflats leading out to the Aegean, and to one side the ancient ruins of Miletos.
The prices of these villas start at £60,000 for the completed building from plans, with land of approximately 1000m² but can increase to any amount, dependant on the building, surrounding land size and the interior requirements.
Just a short ride down the road and one comes to Doganbey, which is an ancient Greek village. The remains of the homes from before the 1st World War, are dotted around the mountainside, and are little more than shells of the original stone homes that they were. After the repatriation treaty between Greece and Turkey, the villagers returned to their homelands and were housed around Do?anbey, but found that they could not farm there. They were flatland farmers, and the mountain lifestyle did not suit them. So, they left their stone houses, and relocated to the bottom of the valley creating the village of Tuzburgas?, and now they are selling off these shells of houses for extremely reasonable prices, including the plots of land that they stand on.
There are approximately 40 shells of old buildings and the Government will give allowance for total renovation as long as they are constructed in the original style of the area. The buildings are checked regularly as they are being erected, to make sure these rules are strictly adhered to.
The plots of land vary in size, but are smaller than those above in Tuzburgas?, and they start from about £5,000 for the smallest. For £50,000, a buyer can buy the plot and have a beautiful, smallish one bedroomed stone house constructed completely. Again, dependant on the land size, one can choose from a small property to a 5 or 6 bedroomed mansion.
In winter the crevasse between the two adjoining mountains backing Doganbey, provides the beauty of a waterfall, cascading down behind the houses. The view at the front is also fabulous, with the mudflats and the Aegean in the distance.
